Recently a female Episcopalian Bishop, a problem all its own, made some very political statements from her platform while President Trump was in attendance at the National Cathedral. Her very divisive comments had nothing whatsoever to do with the Gospel of Christ but were things that she “felt” needed to be said and reflected her views and not those of Christ or his Apostles.
She made a plea of “mercy” for “gay, and lesbian and transgender children”. The first thing to point out is that the very idea that there is such a thing as children who are homosexual or transgender is nothing more than a cultural syncretism. This “bishop” is condoning sin, as innate, and imagining that particular sin to exist in children at very young ages. While the Bible is clear that a sinful nature does exist in us all, it does not say that any particular sin is innate to us, especially as children. There is a huge difference between the existence of a sinful nature and being guilty of a particular sin. A particular sin is not an innate characteristic of human beings, it is rather something to repent of. That is the message of the true Gospel. But this person not only violates the Apostle Paul’s dictate about women speaking and teaching in the congregation but does so while teaching a great error and heresy.
Most relevant, it is important to realize that she is a “bishop” over a large territory for her organization, I won’t call it a church since it isn’t one, and in the territory are schools that are teaching children. What do you think the children in this territory under her “authority” are learning? Not the true Gospel, but the things that this world embraces.
Parents need to be very careful these days and not be deceived by all organizations calling themselves “Christian”. Martin Luther taught us that the true church is the one that has the Gospel. If you are teaching tolerance for sodomy, instead of repentance then you are not teaching the Gospel, you are teaching a heresy. That is what this “bishop” is, a heretic and an apostate. Do not put your children into a “Christian” system that is Christian in name only and not in substance.
These are treacherous times, choose wisely.
The Bishop in question was removed from her position, and appropriately so.
