The Lindsay Clancy Case, the Cult of Feminism, and the Long Reconstruction of the Home

When the jury in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, deadlocked after days of deliberation, unable to reach a unanimous verdict on the deliberate strangulation of three innocent children, the secular press treated it as an unfathomable tragedy of mental healthcare and modern maternal exhaustion.

The facts of the case remain plain. Three children, Cora, Dawson, and infant Callan, were killed inside their own home. Under historic Christian jurisprudence, derived from the moral law revealed in Holy Scripture, murder is a capital crime requiring justice. The civil magistrate is established by God as a minister of justice to bear the sword against evildoers (Romans 13:4). The Sixth Commandment protects innocent human life from intentional destruction. When innocent blood is shed, the land itself is defiled until righteous judgment is executed.

Yet the discourse surrounding this trial revealed a spiritual sickness deeper than the court proceedings. Rather than demanding absolute accountability for the slaughter of innocents, an entire contingent of radical cultural feminist commentators and therapeutic advocates rallied around the perpetrator, framing her not as a criminal but as the ultimate victim and even a hero.

To understand how a society reaches the point where the deliberate destruction of children generates rallies of public empathy for the killer rather than outrage on behalf of the dead, we have to look at the theological and ideological roots of the modern order.

The Fruits of Radical Feminist Autonomy

For decades, radical feminist ideology has waged war on the created order, particularly targeting the domestic sphere. The natural, God-ordained vocations of mother, wife, and homemaker were redefined not as honorable callings of sacrificial love, but as patriarchal cages of oppression.

In exchange for the historic covenant of the Christian home, the modern world offered women absolute expressive individualism. It promised fulfillment through corporate ladders, chemical suppression of fertility, and the complete decoupling of sexuality from childbearing. When children do enter the picture in this modern framework, they are often perceived not as an inheritance and reward from the Lord (Psalm 127:3 LXX), but as competitors to personal autonomy, career development, and psychological self-actualization. In short, child-rearing is seen as a burden rather than a calling.

The inevitable consequence of this mindset is that motherhood becomes viewed as an intolerable trauma rather than a sanctifying duty. When an ethos treats children as disposable burdens inside the womb through the sacrament of abortion, it inevitably degrades the sanctity of the child outside the womb. If a mother possesses absolute moral and legal autonomy to destroy her child at nine months before birth, the cultural wall protecting a five-year-old, a three-year-old, and an infant becomes paper-thin.

The public defense of Clancy—which leaned heavily on pathologizing sin, shifting blame entirely to medicalization, and painting motherhood itself as an unbearable crucible—is the logical endpoint of this worldview. Murderous sin is no longer an offense against God and God's image-bearers that demands justice; it is converted into a medical malfunction where the transgressor bears zero moral culpability.

The Collapse of Civil Justice

The inability of a jury to swiftly convict in such a case demonstrates the total breakdown of Christian civil theory. Scripture teaches that the primary purpose of civil government is the execution of justice and the restraint of evil, not therapeutic indulgence.

When a society abandons objective moral standards rooted in the law of God, law enforcement and the courts degenerate into exercises of sociological sentimentality. If justice cannot be rendered for three small children slain in their own home, the legal system ceases to function as a shield for the vulnerable. It becomes an engine for validating excuses.

The cultural celebration of maternal victimhood over child survival signals a civilization in active collapse. A culture that cannot universally condemn and punish the destruction of its own youth has lost the fundamental instinct for preservation, let alone the fear of the Lord.

The Solution: Rebuilding the Home from the Ground Up

Political rallies, legal reform, and cultural complaints will not fix a civilization hollowed out by anti-family ideology. The institutions of the modern West—academia, modern media, state bureaucracies, and the corporate healthcare complex—are thoroughly captured by these destructive assumptions.

The solution is not reform within broken structures, but faithful reconstruction outside of them. We must return to the biblical blueprint for the family, recognizing that the household is the basic covenantal building block of all human society.

1. Restoring Natural and Biblical Order

Men must embrace their role as heads, providers, and protectors of the home, leading their families with discipline, courage, and spiritual integrity. Women must be celebrated and supported in their high calling as keepers of the home, nurturing life, and instructing their children in piety, rejecting the siren songs of feminist careerism that leave the home empty and unguarded.

2. Re-establishing the Sacredness of Life

Christian households must cultivate an uncompromising culture of life. Children must be welcomed as blessings, raised under covenantal promises, and trained from their earliest years to recognize that their lives belong to Christ, not to self-centered worldly pursuits.

3. Homeschooling as Spiritual and Civil Defense

A vital component of this reconstruction is taking total dominion over the education of our children.

The state schooling apparatus and mainstream cultural institutions are intentionally designed to catechize the next generation into the very egalitarian and individualistic dogmas that produced this cultural ruin. They teach children that their desires are supreme, that gender and roles are fluid, that family authority is tyrannical, and that God is irrelevant.

Homeschooling is not merely an academic preference; it is an act of covenantal faithfulness and civil defense. Through intentional home education:

  • Parents fulfill the Deuteronomy mandate to teach God’s law diligently when they sit in the house, walk by the way, lie down, and rise.
  • Children are shielded from therapeutic, anti-Christian ideologies before their discernment is mature.
  • Young girls are taught the beauty, dignity, and divine honor of Christian womanhood, maternal sacrifice, and household management, rather than being conditioned into neurotic anxiety over modern careerist demands.
  • Young boys are forged into responsible, protective men who value truth, respect authority, and understand their duty to defend the vulnerable.

The Way Forward

The deadlocked jury in Massachusetts is a mirror held up to a decaying culture. It reveals what happens when a society casts off the moral law of God, embraces the idolatry of self-fulfillment, and excuses the slaughter of the innocent under the guise of psychological victimhood.

We cannot expect corrupt systems to heal themselves. The path forward begins around our own tables, in our own nurseries, and in our own home classrooms. By raising disciplined, godly seed who know the Scriptures, respect the divine order, and reject the poison of modern ideologies, Christian families will outlive, out-build, outlast, and out-reproduce this present darkness. Christ is King, and His order will stand long after the bankrupt ideologies of this age have crumbled into memory.
